This was a thrift store find at St. Vinny's, this was a poster reprint of the artwork called "American Heritage" by Rick Kelley done in 1997. It was in a frame that was falling apart, and close to being in a trashed state so I saved it, bought it, and started to paint in our troll named Sven. For over a year he was in this painting alone and I felt like it needed more and I couldn't figure out what, then it dawned on me...GNOMES! We had a few in our home purchased from in town and I figured why couldn't one ride the eagle while doing his errands? Why couldn't one be eating his lunch in a tree, sitting on a branch? And hey let's add a dragon like the wooden ones throughout Mount Horeb on various buildings. The name came to me then especially since I love GOT with a cheeky joke.
